Falling In Love With Apple Juice

The smell of apple cider & apple crisp fill the kitchen as your mouth waters for just one taste. Fall is my favorite season as I get to harvest all that I have grown. Apple juice, cider, and apple crisp are a few of my favorite things to make! We have a apple orchard that has an endless supply of apples so I decided to make my own apple juice! Here is my quick step by step over view of how i did it.

Equipment used:

Apple Crusher

Apple Press

Pots

knife and cutting board

Cheese cloth and fine mesh strainer

Canning Jars

Water Bath Canner

Homemade Raw Apple Juice

Ingredients:

APPLES!

All you need is your apples for this!

Step 1: Cut apples into halves and place into crusher and crush all your apples.

Step 2: As you place your crushed apples into your press jucie will start to run out right away so make sure to have a large pot under neath to catch it.

Step 3: Apple pressure to your press, depending on what kind you have and press/ crank the blocks till you can't anymore.

Step 4: Collect all juice and strain through a mesh strainer and cheese cloth to remove chunks and debris.

Step 5: Place pot onto your stove and heat to 190 degrees but not hottter than that!

Step 6: If you do not want to can the juice, go ahead and enjoy it and keep it in your fridge for about a week.

Step 7: If you want to preserve your apple juice you can freeze it in freezer safe containers or can it using a water bath canner. Make sure your jars are clean and pour your juice in. Once you have your jars in the canner, process for 10 minutes.

Step 8: Enjoy your homemade apple juice1 Add some cinnamon or clove to some juice and heat up for a lovely warm fall drink!
